Graciella la Gitana Oracle-Sobriety
Sobriety: Sobriety means so much more than not taking a drink! I've come to know that one's actions speak louder than words. Trite? Hackneyed phrase? A familiar coined adage? There is a reason that we use cliches, although many of my editor friends' cringe whenever I use them. Use a fresher string of letters and words to get your point across they admonish me. But these types of sentences are understood by most in our diverse cultures and communities.
For the last couple of months, I took a hiatus on writing weekly Graciella posts. My reasons were purely selfish. I had lots going on. I was tired. Not many people were reading the posts. Blah, blah, blah. There is still so much going on in my life and more now than ever. And now there is no one reading these posts. Ha ha!.
I wake up to realize that we write these posts for a purpose. We are servants to the Universes, God, Goddess, Higher Power, and whatever you choose to name or not name Something Greater than ourselves. We share these messages, Graciella and I, to bring forward compassion, kindness, a path for those other than ourselves to share. Life can be ecstatic, boring, neutral, and tempestuous. All of those things, all of the time, ever changing.
I couldn't look back to see what which Graciella card we had picked out last week, or the week before. I know Graciella gives us gentle awakenings regarding what to expect and how to deal with them. But me, mortal Theresa, decided that I was too busy to give me and all of you who do tune into our weekly readings her graces. So, the long and the short of it is, that we are back. I have worked personally with Graciella since October, but we have both missed you- our readers.
The action that I will take is to walk in a sober manner. As the card says, there is so much more to being sober than not taking a drink. This week's message is to think about your actions and how they will affect not only you, but those around you, whether near or far.
Will I give of myself more fully to those in need? Will I meditate and pray and lean into my Higher Power as I tackle these strenuous hills that I call life? What actions can I take this week that will show who I not only think that I am, but to embody who I portray myself to be in this blessed Universe?
So, tired, worn-out expression or not, actions speak louder than words, and I walk with intention to take actions that will bring more love into this world.
